Tió de Nadal

In every Catalan household, the ritual begins on December 8: the Tió is placed in its cozy corner, covered with a little blanket… and starts getting fed! Because if you don’t take good care of him, on the 24th he won’t “poop” any nougat or little presents.

This year we have a spectacular Tió—sturdy, handsome, and full of charm. Made of birch wood with an oak veneer finish, he’s as robust as they come.

The back is removable, perfect for hiding the surprises he’ll “poop” later, just as tradition says. He measures 30 cm in length and comes with all the details: a traditional barretina hat, a blanket-bag to keep him warm (and to store him away after the holidays), and a cheerful, expressive face engraved by laser.

Plus, with two detachable beechwood legs, he’s easy to store and enjoy year after year—just like singing “Caga Tió” all over again.
